As speculated later this week by Starrtrash, Lady Ga-Ga has confirmed that she indeed is a hermaphrodite. Pictures of her vagina, which shows a bulge resembling a tiny penis were released last week that started the rumours about her gender identity. Starrtrash confirmed the story with her blog entry earlier this morning.

from what i heard is that she said on live telly that she was born with both and when she got older she was so girly that she decide she would be a girl and had the boy part removed and her farther was realy sad beacause he already had two girls. but in stead of spreading rumours why cant lady gaga her self post on here the truth beacause its slighty anyoing me now and i would like to know the truth, i personly dont think its true.

Whether or not Lady Gaga is a woman who is multiple gendered is irrelevant to her substance as a person, musician and ambitious woman who has accomplished a hell of a lot more in her lifetime than millions of others by pursuing her dream.
I just want to make a comment about her music before I proceed. I hadn't really been a huge fan of pop/dance music since the millennium but recently there has been a shift towards producing music with a sort of new-age techno beat. Music has been getting catchier than ever. Just when I thought we had kinda hit the climax and were starting to go downhill... artists like Lady Gaga the new sound of Black Eyed Peas and producers like Timbaland showed up.
While I am an upcoming singer/songwriter myself and specialize mainly in alternative rock, I can recognize a good beat when I hear it. Lady Gaga is a talented and ambitious woman regardless of what anyone says about her. And YES I do say WOMAN, because regardless of something so superficial as a person's genitalia, she identifies as a woman.
What people need to understand is that gender is a social construction. I've read comments on this page saying "Oh poor her... she can't help it..." I'm sorry but if you think this way it is time for you to face your ignorance. That is like saying "oh poor her... shes asian/black/woman/gay/etc etc" Excuse me... but when was it a tragedy to be different? We need to start facing these thoughts in society and recognize them as ignorant, as unkind and unjust.
And why did I post this comment? Why do I even care? This isn't even about Lady Gaga.... this is about society's ignorance towards the idea of a transgendered individual. The reason we don't hear of the idea as often as other kinds of difference is not because it is uncommon to be transgendered or that such a person is some "freak of nature" as someone person on this blog commented. It is because society stigmatizes and confines these people to a single-gender "ideal" which is discriminatory and inherently wrong.
Remember the saying "came out of the closet"? Well... why do you think people had and still do stay in the closet about issues of gender and sexuality? Because if they are afraid to "come out" with this aspect of their identity. And YES i do say ASPECT of IDENTITY because as humans we are sisters/brothers/teachers/lovers/mothers/fathers/students/friends/musicians/artists/chemists... need I go further? We have so many aspects of our identity but if we are denied the right and beauty of pursuing an identity that is truly ours... than that is the greatest injustice that can be done to this human race.
Please... try to be accepting. It doesn't require much to challenge ignorance. Lets focus on Lady Gaga's music or unique image... the things that are real.

okay first of all im not really agreeing with anyone when they say lady GAGA is a man because personally i dont beleive she is , however its not completely impossible because you dont have to have a penis to have a hermaphorodite lol she could have had the op or even not an externally visible male genitalia she could juts have male organs. but i mean you only have to look at her to know shes not a man, you can tell a transexual a mile off shes quite clearly not a man or everbeen a man. she can hit really high notes aswell that just wouldnt be possible by a man.

Hermaphy or not. She/he sucks. Anyway, i think she/he started the rumor herself/himself to gather even more attention for her/his crappy "music." The songs are purely bad and she/he should be embarrassed of herself/himself for ever singing them. I say shame on He-She Gaga, I hope that her/his marketing ploy backfires and everyone starts to hate her/him. Oh wait, there are all of you idiots on this website that will listen to her/him and think she/he is great no matter what happens.

WHO CARES.

Musically speaking shes pretty awesome. I can't stand 99% of what I hear thats current "Pop?", but the musical talent is beyond reproach. Ms Ga Ga wrote a whole bunch of big money spinners for lots of other artists before deciding that she probably knew better than those who got lucky with one of her songs they had enough $$$ to buy..... I only wish I had that in my CV. Or bank account

And Visually... Every bit as effective as KISS except she's every little boys dream.. TV just sucks her up!. And the boys out there saying that it takes away her appeal..... Maybe that could be a symptom of your "Very Own" difficulties about your manliness and sexual preference.

And "IF" she has something extra, well, so be it. There's about the same percentage of the universe that's been born with an extra toe. Or other "extra " bit of some type. From a skeletal point of view, she is a she. The hips, ( dont worry bout the silicone in her bust, otherwise bag 90% of Hollywood "starlets") the legs, facial structure and skin show it. And she writes like a gal. its obvious where her heads at. Except she can make a bigger noise than Pink ***( I AINT bagging Pink either, she's great). She talks walks and smiles like a gal as well.! Not easy!

Medically speaking, its not that unusual if it is so. In fact, most parents would have had it "corrected" years ago. But...is that right anyway, maybe the rest of us are just jealous and this is why this issue seems worth comment.

So, listen and look at the art. It isn't about the bits, its about the music you hear and the image the gal has crafted. This is what you have the right to question. The rest should be out of bounds. Its no one else's business unless Lady Ga Ga decides it is.
